Product Review

Aimee from The Fat Theory was recently talking about a protein shake that she loves on Facebook. I decided to look this product up, and I got very excited and ordered a canister.

The product is called Click and you can find it by clicking here on amazon for $20.22. It comes in two different flavors, Mocha and Vanilla Latte. I got the Mocha. Basically this is a protein powder that you can mix with water or milk and it is equivalent to a double shot of espresso! For all of you coffee drinkers out here, this a double whammy! Get your morning coffee, and protein packed breakfast in one!

The powder alone has 15 grams of protein, but add in 12 oz of milk and get an extra 12 gms! I think it tastes like a coffee milkshake. This is by far, the best protein powder I have tried and highly recommend it! Hope you all enjoy :)

Week 5 Challenge Results

The winner this week was Linda with a 2.4% loss! Great job Linda, and welcome to ONEDERLAND!

As a group we lost, 30.9lbs this week! Not too shabby, I just find it strange its almost exactly half the amount we lost last week. I am finding a pattern here, we lose a ton one week, then about half the amount the next...why do you think this is?

I'm kinda obsessed with this challenge if you can't tell....

If you guys can't already tell, I'm kind of obsessed with this challenge. I think it's so cool what we are doing, and I love seeing our results each week. I was just looking at the overall results so far, and since we're about half way done I thought I would post the Top 5 loser's (winners) so far. Maybe start some friendly competition (not that there's not a lot already lol GILLY) So here you have it, the Top 5 thus far:
  1. Joey @ 5.2%
  2. Amy W tied with Amy C @ 4.8%
  3. Jess tied with TJ @ 4.5%
  4. Kristin @ 4.1%
  5. Gilly @ 3.8%

WOOOOOO! Go Ladies Go! Come to think of it, what are we going to do if there is a tie? Extend it 1 more week for those who are tied? split the prize? Ideas????

As a group we lost, 62.4lbs this week! That is AMAZING! That averages to about 2lbs from each of us, pretty darn good, if I say so myself!

Let's keep it up ladies, I'm so proud of us all!

Hey Pretty Ladies!

I feel like this post is going to be all over the place, I have so many things going through my head right now. Following in Drazil's footsteps I think I will do this post in a list format so that I make sure and cover everything :)

Chicago: So I haven't posted much about this trip, because honestly I have been so upset about it. I can't tell you have many times I have broken down to tears thinking about it. The problem is, my best friend is getting married on the 25th of September and I am in her wedding. If it wasn't for that I hope you all know I would be there in a heartbeat. I know there will be plenty of other get togethers, but I can't help but have a pity party and stomp my feet. I want to be there so badly. Ok, enough!

Weight: Last Thursday (on my birthday) I finally hit 188, 60lbs down. Well that was short lived! I think it lasted about a half hour before I decided to eat anything and everything I wanted. All of this week I was up to 193, and not doing much to help it. Finally yesterday the mystery restriction reappeared, and this morning I was back to 189! Praise the lord!

Challenge: Tomorrow Week 4 results are due! I really hope we hit our goal of 30lbs down for the week! I have high expectations, and have a feeling we blew this goal through the roof!

Shopping: Rick's cousin is getting married next month and I was in need of an outfit for the rehearsal dinner. I've noticed that as I continue to lose weight I have a hard time reusing my outfits and constantly want to buy new ones for every reason possible. Well today I had fantastic luck at Ann Taylor Loft. I went in and decided to try on this cute little dress, it was a no go! I asked the sales woman to help me zip it, and she couldn't even get it close (it was a 14) She told me not to worry and she could find plenty of other things that would work. She asked me if I wanted her to be my personal shopper....I said sure why not? Minutes later she comes back with 3 different complete outfits, and by complete I mean bottoms, tops, AND accessories! There were 2 skirt ensembles, and 1 with jeans. She grabbed a 14 and a 12 in the skirts, I obviously went for the 14 first, seeing how the 14 dress didn't just fit. I came out in it, and she said no way its too big on you! AHHHHH! So I tried the 12 on, and it fit! YIPPPEEE! I ended up buying 1 skirt, 1 pair of jeans, 1 cotton shirt, 2 tank tops, 2 cardigans and a necklace! I would say an overall SUCCESS! Now the problem is did I have money for all of this? Of course not...but that's a story for another day.

Trainer update and new recipe!

Good Morning! I had my weekly trainer visit bright and early this morning! She is determined to have me trying new fruits and veggies weekly since I am so picky. I try to please her efforts by trying at least 1 or 2 new things a week. 2 weeks ago it was spaghetti squash, which I liked! Last week I tried a salad, which I got stuck on. This week I tried an orange (I know super strange that I never tried one before) but I loved it! I also made kabobs last night with steak, zucchini, and summer squash...not my fave! I think the issue was with the seeds though, and their texture...she suggested scooping them out. I will give it another shot!

Exercise wise she had me do an TON of stair runs today...I went up and down 2 sets of stairs 3 times, 5 different times! OUCH! My HRM said I burned 357 calories, yippppe!

She also asked how I've been doing with breakfast, and I was honest and told her I've been eating protein bars, which she doesn't like. She thinks there are too many artificial ingredients in them. She said she found a recipe online to make your own natural protein bars at home and shared it with me. It doesn't look to bad! You can find the recipe and a lot other healthy, high protein ones @ Stella's Kitchen. Here is the recipe she showed me:

Protein Nutrition Bar Recipe (click to see recipe)

Makes 10 bars

A nice meal replacement bar at a mere fraction of the cost of packaged protein bars and none of their glycerin, preservatives, or sugar, these low-fat bars are rich in fiber and taste great with a light spread of natural peanut butter across the top. Served with a protein drink, they make a well-balanced meal.

Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups quick oats
1 1/2 cups powdered non-fat milk
1 cup sugar-free (diabetic) pancake syrup (Cozy Cottage, Cary's or Howard's brand)
2 egg whites, beaten
1/4 cup orange juice
1 tsp Vanilla
1/4 c. natural applesauce*
4 scoops chocolate or vanilla protein powder

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325°. Mix all dry ingredients in bowl and blend well. In separate bowl, combine eggwhites, orange juice, applesauce, & the sugar-free syrup and blend well. Stir liquids into dry ingredients until blended. The consistency will be thick and similar to cookie dough. Spread batter on baking sheet coated with non-stick spray. Use a 9x12 baking dish if you want a thicker bar. Bake until edges are crisp and browned. Cut into 10 bars and store in airtight container or freeze.

*If you find you want a moister bar, add a little more applesauce to the recipe for softness.

**The brand of protein used in this recipe contained 200 calories, 4 g carb, 44 g protein, 2 g fat, and 2 g fiber. Use your low-carb whey of choice.

Nutritional Information:
Per Serving: Calories- 157 Carbs- 23g Protein- 15g Fat- .5 g Fiber- 4 g

I will probably attempt to make these this weekend, I like the idea of spreading some peanut butter on top, mmmm mmmm I love me some peanut butter! Hope everyone has a fantastic Tuesday! xxoo

Bathing Suit and Tummy Pics!!! EEEEK!

With the Memorial Day, Bathing Suit challenge well under way, I got in the mood for some bathing suit shopping. J Crew was having an awesome sale, and I took full advantage of it! I ordered 2 different bathing suits, with one of them having 2 interchangeable bottoms I can wear. The teal one is a Size 14, and made for D cups, and the olive one the top is an XL made for D cups, and the bottoms are a L. I love both of these suits, and my only disappointment is with the olive one's support in the boob area. I probably have the saggiest, lowest boobies EVER....it's so sad! I definitely will look into have a lift after we have babies!

The next pictures are a first for me....I've never posted any tummy shots of myself, but since Nicole did it earlier in the week, I decided what the hell! Now brace yourself my tummy looks nothing like Nicoles...this is what happens when you do not use any scar treatment! Don't get me wrong, it doesn't really bother me too much. I just tell myself the scars represent who I am, and where I have been. They are a constant reminder of how far I have come and how proud I am of myself and my decision.

I posted earlier in the week about my new scale, and how I was excited/nervous for it. Well let me tell you, I LOVE IT! The numbers keep dropping EVERY DAY! When I got it on Sunday I weighed 195, today I proudly stepped on and saw 189!! OMG can you believe it? I'm officially in the 180's!!! This also means just 1 more pound and I hit 60 pounds lost! AHHHHH! I love my band!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic week, today is my Friday since I have tomorrow off for Good Friday. Rick and I are heading to my parents home in Maine for the weekend to spend Easter with them. It's supposed to be gorgeous and in the 70's! wahooo! We have been getting a TON of rain here in mass. the last few days, my street is completely flooded, but thank god no damage to our cars or home. Here is a pic of my street:
