R.I.P

I had a very tragic thing happen over the weekend.....My scale died :( It was a quick and easy death though, she drowned. You're probably wondering how does a scale drowned....well let me tell you. My parent's were up visiting for the weekend, and my mom was taking a shower and I guess forgot to pull the liner inside the tub. I walk into the bathroom with a huge puddle on the floor, and my scale covered. I gasp and run for Rick to tell him the devastating news. My mom felt really bad, and told me she would take me to get a new scale, any one I wanted. We went to Kohls, I picked out the Biggest Loser, Body Fat-Body Water Scale with BMI. It has all the bells and whistles and is very pretty. While I love my new scale, I can't help but miss the old one. It saw me and held me when I was at my biggest. It had a memory that recorded your weight, and told you how much weight and the % you lost every time you stepped on it. I am going to miss seeing that -55lbs when I step on every morning. The new scale had me down 1 lb which was welcomed with open arms. It also told me that my body fat % was 49! GROSS! Is that normal, do any of you know yours?? I feel like that # is super high! I tried to upload a pic of my new scale, but its not working...if any of you have this one or know anything about it, I'd love to hear reviews....I hope I picked a good one!

  3. I'm sorry for your loss. I had to get a new scale after I had lost 30 pounds so when I set my starting weight I had my husband put his foot on the scale to program my original starting weight. That way I don't have to do math every morning. When I started my body fat was 51%, now it's 34%. My brother's is 2% -- needless to say I hate him.

  4. Did you give the old scale a proper burial? I went low-tech and mine just registers pounds. An old scale used to read all the body fat, stored info, etc. but my cleaning lady broke it. I was actually happy. For years the scale at my doctors office weighed 10 pounds lighter til some kid jumped on them and broke them. His new scales suck--they are the correct weight. Enjoy your new purchase and sorry you had to lose the -55, but at least you know you did lose that much!

  5. I'm so sorry for your loss!

May your new scale be more rewarding than the last!

I just read your blog from start to now and what a great blog you've got. I'm looking forward to now following you more actively. I wish I'd caught up before the challenge started yesterday but I do think it might be too much to try not even knowing if or when I'll get banded. Will be fun to watch everyone, though - and I look forward to reading more of your progress!
